137th Canton Fair kicks off today with spotlight on innovation and openness

On April 15th, the 137th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) officially opened by the Pearl River in Guangzhou. Running from April 15th to May 5th in three phases under the themes of"Advanced Manufacturing,""Quality Home Life," and "Better Life."A total of 55 exhibition categories and 172 product zoneshave been set up.Despite escalating China-US trade frictions and the lingering shadow of unilateralism, this time-honored trade fair, the oldest trade event in China, remains open to the world, once again attracting a global gathering of business people.

Coinciding with the lively scenes at the fair, the General Administration of Customs of the Republic of China (GACC)released China's Q1 foreign trade figures: total imports and exports of goods reached 10.3 trillion yuan, up 1.3% year-on-year, with exports growing 6.9% to 6.13 trillion yuan.This session covers anexhibition area of 1.55 million square meters, with around 74,000 booths and approximately 31,000 exhibiting enterprises. For the first time, the number of companies participating in the export section has surpassed 30,000, while 736 companies are showcasing in the import section. Guangzhou Light Industry Group alone is presenting nearly 1,400 innovative products across 103 booths through seven subsidiaries.

In response to external uncertainties, the fair has introduced several "firsts." For the first time, a service robot section has been added to Phase 1, highlighting AI-related achievements. New zones, such as integrated housing and other emerging industries, have also been established. This year's exhibitors bring a high level of both innovation and intelligence: over 4,200 companies are first-time participants, more than 9,700 hold relevant titles or recognitions, and about 3,700 are involved in related key sectors.

Phase 1, which launched first, centers on "Advanced Manufacturing" and is full of fresh highlights. Exhibits related to China's "new three" products, namely EVs, lithium batteries and solar cells,span nearly 8,900 booths, involving around 3,700 companies. This phase features 4,950 brand booths with 969 brand enterprises participating, including 14 new additions. More than 1,600 enterprises are first-time exhibitors, and over 5,100 are recognized for quality and specialty products.Also debuting in Phase 1 is the service robot zone, located in the Friendship Hall. Covering 4,200 square meters, it displays a diverse array of robots and has drawn participation from 46 top robot enterprises, showcasing China's smart manufacturing edge and boosting its presence in the mid-to-high-end global industrial and value chains.

开放逐新！第137届广交会今日启幕

4月15日，第137届广交会在珠江之畔启幕，于4月15日至5月5日分三期举办，主题分别为“先进制造”“品质家居”“美好生活”，共设55个展区、172个产品专区。尽管中美经贸摩擦持续升级、单边主义阴云未散，这场中国历史最悠久的贸易盛会仍以“万商云集”之势，向世界敞开大门。

海关总署公布一季度外贸成绩单，货物贸易进出口10.3万亿元，增长1.3%，出口6.13万亿元，增长6.9%，与广交会的热闹景象相得益彰。本届广交会展览总面积155万平方米，展位总数约7.4万个，参展企业约3.1万家，出口展参展企业首次破3万家，进口展有736家企业参展。广州轻工集团旗下7家企业设103个展位，推出近1400件创新产品。

面对外部环境不确定性，广交会以多个“首次”回应。首次在第一期增设服务机器人专区，展示人工智能成果；首次新设集成房屋专区，还有多个新兴产业专区。本届广交会参展企业含“新”量、含“智”量高，新参展企业超4200家，有相关称号的企业超9700家，相关题材企业约3700家。

率先启幕的第一期以“先进制造”为主题，汇聚新意。“新三样”等相关题材展位近8900个，参展企业约3700家。首期品牌展位4950个，969家品牌企业参展，新纳入14家，首次参展企业超1600家，优质特色企业超5100家。首次在第一期友谊大厅设置的服务机器人专区，面积4200平方米，展出各类机器人，吸引46家优秀机器人企业参展，助力中国制造迈向全球产业链、价值链中高端。
